YY@Moon - Art&Design
I believe by taking adventures in the field of art and design, I can understand myself and the world better.
Driven by this belief, I create stories with visual arts, performances and handcrafts.
I started to practice calligraphy since I was six years old. Chinese calligraphy is all about repetition and variation. The practice of calligraphy has a high influence on my artworks. It introduces me to follow my intution and all the senses without too many rules and judgements.
My works take on unconventional perspectives of rituals. I find my source of inspiration im the sublime landscape, in Chinese mythology, and in the human body. By linking landscape with the human body, I place emphasis on fluid transformablity and fused ecstasy.
I stage notions of poetic absurdity, precarious-balanced empty space, in which the confrontation between the absense and the presence can be fantasized.
